Project description

This project will upgrade the North-South Corridor between the River Torrens and Darlington, including two sets of twin three-lane tunnels, connected by an open motorway, and upgrades to the surrounding transport network. Once complete, the North-South Corridor will run 78km from Gawler in the north to Old Noarlunga in the south.

Benefits

The North-South Corridor - Torrens to Darlington project is expected to deliver the following benefits:

  • reduced congestion and improved travel times
  • improved safety for all road users
  • improved efficiency and network reliability

Funding

The Australian Government is funding on a 50:50 ratio in conjunction with the SA Government.

Timetable

Construction is expected to commence in late 2025 and be completed by late 2031.
