Project description

Existing road is formed gravel road that causes dust to go through the community and power station.

Renew cattle grid at community boundary and seal 440 meters of gravel road to reduce dust inundation into the community and power house. This action will assist access to freight and fuel transport and reduce maintenance of the power house plant and supporting equipment.

Total cost of proposed project is $580,300

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
