Project description

This preliminary business case investigated options to acquire land along Melbourne’s Outer Metropolitan Ring and E6 Corridor to support the future construction of this proposed transport link.

Benefits

The Outer Metropolitan Ring and E6 Corridor will ultimately accommodate a 100 kilometre long high-speed road and rail transport link in Melbourne’s north and west. Acquiring land as it becomes available will ensure its availability when construction is able to commence.

Funding

The Australian and Victorian Governments contributed $3.75 million each.

Timetable

The preliminary business case was completed in March 2021.
