Project description
Upgrades to priority locations between Hobart Airport and Southern Sorell under the Hobart to Sorell Corridor, including duplication between Hobart Airport Interchange and the Midway Point Causeway, Midway Point intersection upgrade, and construction of a Sorell Bypass.
Benefits
Upgrades to the corridor are expected to reduce travel time and provide a safer, more reliable transport solution for commuters and visitors travelling to and from Hobart.
Funding
The Australian Government will contribute up to $92.9 million and the Tasmanian Government up to $23.2 million for this project.
Timetable
Construction commenced in November 2020 and is expected to be completed by mid 2025.
