Project description

The project increased the capacity of commuter car parking facilities through construction of 102 new car spaces at Eltham Station by extending the existing at-grade carpark.

Benefits

This project supported public transport usage and efficiency by improving park and ride facilities at this location.

Funding

The Australian and Victorian governments each contributed $5.48 million.

Timetable

The project commenced construction in April 2022 and was completed in March 2023.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
