Project description

This Section of New Forbes Road consists of only a 3.8m wide bituminous Surface. With the current geometry all passing vehicles are forced to drop at least one wheel off the pavement. Constant edge repair work is carried out in these sections due to wheel drop off. This is concern for safety considering it is a school bus route.

It is intended to widen the road formation to 8m with a 7m wide bitumen primerseal incorporating 10 mm aggregates with a 5 mm scatter coat. and a 0.5m unsealed shoulder on both sides. This project will include erecting & removing traffic control at the site, removing & reinstating signs & guideposts, clearing, excavation, adding gravel, widening the pavement, reconstructing the table drains.

Total cost of proposed project is $27,150
