Project description

This project delivered a heavy vehicle bypass at Biloela to divert traffic away from the residential and commercial centre of Biloela, improving safety, travel times and access for all road users. The project consisted of ten upgrades along the heavy vehicle bypass route, including road widening and bitumen and asphalt resealing.

This project delivered the following key benefits:

  • Improved travel times and access for heavy vehicles
  • Reduced interaction between heavy vehicles and vulnerable road users
  • Decreased traffic in the Biloela commercial district

Funding

The Australian Government committed $2.17 million to this project.

Timetable

The project commenced construction in January 2021 and completed construction in June 2023.
