Project description

This project demolished the previous bridge on Mundubbera-Durong Road (John Peterson Bridge) over the Boyne River and replaced it with a new concrete bridge with improved flood immunity and alignment.

Benefits

Upgrades to the John Petersen Bridge improved safety and freight efficiency along Mundubbera Durong Road.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $27.46 million to this project, with Queensland Government committing $6,864,000 for a total commitment of $34,320,000.

Timetable

Major construction on this project commenced in early 2022 and was completed in mid 2023.
