Project description

The Project will upgrade approximately a 15 kilometre section of the Tasman Highway at the Sideling between Minstone Road intersection and the Corkerys Road intersection.

Benefits

Upgrades are expected to improve freight productivity and reduce freight costs for the north-east agricultural sector.

Funding

The estimated cost of the project is $50 million. The Australian Government is contributing $40 million and the Tasmanian Government $10 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced construction in August 2022 and is expected to be completed by mid 2026.
