Project description

This project delivered a new TfNSW compliant two-lane concrete bridge over Murrabrine Creek along Wandella Road in Cobargo, Bega Valley. The new bridge was designed by Andrew Marshman of Marshman O'Neill Engineers and replaced the old timber bridge, which was approaching the end of its serviceable life. The new bridge ensures all traffic access along the route, including Gross Mass Limited (GML) heavy vehicles such as fully laden milk tankers, concrete trucks and cattle transports.

Benefits

This project improved freight accessibility and load limits and increased local producer productivity. It also helps Council meet its community strategic plan outcomes.

Funding

The Australian Government committed $2.3 million to this project.

Timetable

The project commenced construction August 2021 and was completed on 24 October 2022.
