This project delivered a new TfNSW compliant two-lane concrete bridge over Whipstick Creek along Mount Darragh Road, Wyndham in the Bega Valley. It replaced the old timber bridge, which had been approaching its end of servicable life. The new bridge allows access for all types of traffic along the route, including GML (General Mass Limit) heavy vehicles such as fully laden milk tankers, concrete trucks and cattle transports.
This project is expected to improve freight accessibility and load limits and increase local producer productivity.
The Australian Government has committed $2.4 million to this project.
The project commenced main construction in April 2023. Main concstruction was extensively completed and open to traffic with reduced speed conditions in August 2023. All construction and return to normal traffic conditions was completed on 18 December 2023.
