Project description

This project is expected to increase the capacity of the park and ride facilities in Revesby.

Benefits

This project will support public transport usage and efficiency by improving park and ride facilities at this location.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $12.5 million towards the project.

Timetable

Site works commenced on 9 July 2021 and construction commenced on 11 August 2021.

Construction was completed with project open to public on 27 February 2023.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
