Project description

The proposed project will deliver priority upgrades that will ease congestion around and improve traffic flow along Homebush Bay Drive, including an options study of the Underwood Road and Australia Avenue intersection.

This project's benefits will be: road capacity improvements to improve congestion improved road safety reduced travel times for all road users improved accessibility to Sydney Olympic park and surrounds

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $100 million towards the project.

Timetable

The delivery schedule will be determined in consultation with Transport for New South Wales.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
