Project description

Rutting evident on surface, various areas with patching. Issues with cross fall for water drainage - this area appears to have been patched various times, likely water damage to road. Cracking of top surface evident.

Repair road using full width area profiling. Replace with 40mm hot mix. Water table and kerbing repairs in isolated areas. Road profile needs to consider water run off.

Total cost of proposed project is $138,483

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
