Pavement failure in these sections of Road, also kerb and channel failure in sections allowing storm water egress to pavement

ch 0:068 km to 0:400 km x 6m wide stabilisation of pavement, 2 coat seal on primer seal. Kerb and channel ch 0:430 km to ch 0:530 km. Then ch 0:400 km to 0:800 km x 7m wide stabilisation of pavement, 2 coat seal on primer. Then ch 0:900 km to ch 0:950 km x 3m stabilisation of pavement, 2 coat seal on primer. Then ch 1:100 km to ch 1:120 km x 3m stabilisation of pavement, 2 coat seal on primer.

Total cost of proposed project is $340,544

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
