Project description

The Lincoln Road road surface is showing signs of deterioration, and this is being exacerbated by the absence of kerb & channel and any underground stormwater drainage infrastructure.

Construction of kerb & channel, stormwater drainage infrastructure, and the renewal of the existing road pavement, to provide enhanced longevity for this section of Lincoln Road. In addition, the works will include improvements to the intersections associated with the adjoining local streets.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,082,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
