Project description

The road operates as a heavy traffic bypass on the Eastern side of Brookton town site. The section identified has failing and deformed pavement with the extent and severity of defects increasing and expected to further increase as heavy traffic demands increase. The pavement has been assessed as lacking strength and body with a particle size distribution that lacks larger particles

The planned work is pavement rehabilitation for the entire length of the section to a width of 10 metres achieved through a combination of addition of larger particle size material and cement stabilization of the existing pavement . The addition of material and cement stabilization will involve the use of specialized cement spreading and stabilization equipment. One the treated pavement is trimmed and given time to dry it will be sealed using a two coat seal with a 14mm aggregate first layer and a 7mm aggregate second layer.
