Project description

20 tonne load limited bridge requires replacement. A level 2 inspection of the structure was completed in September 2018 identifying spalling to the majority of the pier bracing members across the structure, significant corrosion to steel components including railing, girders/stringers and deck.

To facilitate this replacement - survey, geo-technical investigation, hydraulic analysis and detail design is required to be undertaken in preparation for competitive tendering.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
