Project description

Pavement cracking, patch failure, depression and defects; Cracked and non-uniform kerb types; Damaged drainage pit; and Cracked and not up to standard kerb ramps.

It is proposed to mill out most of the existing road surface by 35mm, lay 20mm low void black Stone Mastic asphalt then 25mm Dense Graded Asphalt to improve road pavement conditions. Mill and lay red asphalt on the thresholds of Cornish Crescent. Reinstall and upgrade kerbing. Upgrade kerb ramps to the current standard. Upgrade a damaged drainage pit and Reinstall pavement marking.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
