Project description

Install a new shiploader and expanded bulk minerals export facility at the Burnie Port in North West Tasmania, to replace the existing 50 year-old unit, to enable bulk commodities to be transferred to container ships for domestic and overseas export.

Benefits

The new shiploader and integrated enhanced storage facility will reduce operational costs and increase efficiencies and volume capacity of bulk commodities for domestic and overseas export.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $82 million to deliver this project.

Timetable

The project is commenced construction in May 2022 and is expected to be complete by mid-2027.
