Project description

Sections of road pavement is deteriorated due to the surface and base course failure. pavement is significantly potholed and surface cracked. Road pavement requires surface renewal and partly replacement of base layer.

Reconstruct sections of full width road pavement over 4280 sqm pavement area. Road pavement work includes mill and fill of 60mm thick asphalt concrete base course and 40mm thick asphalt wearing surface on top.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
