Project description

Due to a sink hole being identified, there is a risk of pavement failure and potential consequences to public safety and property.

It is proposed to complete a 1M deep pavement replacement, removing any voids encountered and reconstructing a flexible pavement that is less susceptible to damage due to inundation. The existing kerb and adjacent footpath which have sunk will also be re-constructed to remove sags, promoting better on-road drainage and a safer option for users. The re-construction shall be carried out to reduce the likelihood of voids and pavement failure currently being encountered in the area. The full depth asphalt pavement will improve the pavement performance when saturated and the installation of geo-fabric will bridge underlying deep subgrade defects.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,282,656
