Project description

Inadequate access for heavy vehicular access to industrial area lots. The current table drain has a low bed slope causing current accesses to become boggy after small amounts of rain.

The works proposed for both sides of the road are: - Repair existing table drain scour damage - Place geo-fab material and gabion rock in bed of table drain to prevent scour damage - Place grass seed and jut mesh on the embankment of table drain to prevent scour damage

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
