Project description

This project will provide short-term improvements on a 6.7km length of Silverdale Road between Taylors Road and the Nepean River Bridge, including:

• Pavement widening;
• Shoulder sealing;
• Line marking; and
• Installing kerb and gutter.

  • Improved traffic flow on the strategic road network, including Old Hume Highway I Camden Bypass and Hume Motorway
  • Improved travel efficiency and traffic flows for freight vehicles serving the growing Wollondilly Shire area
  • Improved connectivity to jobs and services associated with the Western Sydney Airport and the Western Sydney Employment Area
  • Improved stopping locations for buses
  • Increased connectivity to residential areas, jobs and services
  • Reductions in travel times will reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions

Funding

The Australian Government committed $7.5 million towards this project. 

Timetable

Construction commenced in late 2021 and was completed in early 2023.
