Project description

The project will upgrade the existing four-way signalised intersection at Heathcote Road/Walder Road/Bardia Parade, Hammondville.

Benefits

The project is expected to:

  • Improved traffic flow efficiency at the intersection by providing an additional left tum slip lane from Bardia Parade into Heathcote Road
  • Improved intersection capacity and coordination of traffic signals along Heathcote Road
  • Improved travel times, reliability and road safety
  • Improve efficiency of freight movements
  • Improved coordination and efficiency of traffic signals along Heathcote Road
  • Improved traffic efficiency along Heathcote Road between the residential areas in Wattle Grove, Hammondville, Holsworthy, and Southern Sydney, and the WSAJthe Western Sydney Employment Area
  • Improved pedestrian safety and crossing on the Heathcote Road intersection
