Project description

The Project will relocate Loganlea Station to allow for upgraded line capacity and position the station closer to the local health and education precinct.

Benefits

The project is expected to deliver:

Improved integration with surrounding destinations (including Logan Hospital, TAFE Queensland and Loganlea State High School) .

Improved pedestrian connectivity.

Support future capacity improvement works on the line from Gold Coast to Brisbane.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $89.38 million to this project.

Timetable

Construction commenced mid 2025 and is expected to be completed mid 2027.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
