Project description

The project will construct a new two-lane bridge over the Williams River, adjacent to the existing Brig O'Johnston Bridge, at Clarence Town. The works will include road approaches and a pedestrian walkway.

Benefits

The project is expected to improve freight access and productivity; improve road safety; and support local industries.

Funding

The Australian Government has increased its funding commitment from $8.8 million to $11.8 million towards this project.

Timetable

This project is expected to commence in early 2025 and be completed in late 2026.
