Project description

The project will install a grade separated interchange at the existing Hobart Airport roundabout so the Tasman Highway passes over Holyman Avenue, with dual lane roundabouts at the ramp terminals.

This upgrade will improve access to the Hobart Airport, reduce congestion and add greater traffic capacity. The improvements will also provide a better solution to access to Cranston Parade. This upgrade forms the beginning of the Hobart to Sorell Corridor and will provide benefits for commuters travelling to and from Sorell.

The total project cost is $46.4 million. The Australian Government is contributing $37.1 million to the project with the remainder being funded by the Tasmanian Government.

Construction commenced in December 2020 and was completed in May 2023.
