Project description

This project replaced the existing culvert with a single lane culvert system to address existing structural defects.

The works included:

  • Demolition and removal of the existing culvert/floodway
  • Construction of a single lane culvert system
  • Line-marking and signage
  • Erosion control and landscaping

Benefits

This project delivered the following benefits:

  • Improved flood immunity
  • Increased heavy vehicle access
  • Reduced travel times for freight and passenger vehicles

Funding

The Australian Government committed $264,000 million to the project under the Roads of Strategic Importance initiative.

Timetable

Construction commenced in late 2020 and was completed in mid 2022.
