Project description

The road surface is in poor condition and require resealing in order to protect the pavement and improve riding quality. This road is the continuation of Wallaroo Plain Road connects the town of Kadina and Tickera.

Reseal complete the length of road, full width. The resealing will be done in a 14/7mm aggregate spray seal together with some shoulder stabilization. In addition, the intersection of Snodgrass and Wallaroo Plain Road will be resealed in asphalt.

Total cost of proposed project is $185,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
