Project description

Ageing timber bridge is nearing end of life cycle. Need for a major refurbishment or replacement with concrete box culverts. Replacement with concrete box culverts will reduce the level of maintenance in the coming years.

Replace old Timber Bridge with: • 4 rows of box culverts 2.7 metre wide x 1.8 metres high x 2.4 metres long; • In-situ steel reinforced concrete base slab • In-situ steel reinforced concrete head walls • Asphalt sealed carriageway between head walls with two 4 metre wide traffic lanes • Rock armouring protection of storm water approach and discharge points to culvert • 40 metres of barrier railing on both side of carriageway over culvert with an inside clearance of 9.0m • Width markers installed at end of barrier railing
