Project description

This project will replace two failed culverts on Florvaille Road near Burketown in Burke Shire.

Benefits

The project will deliver the following benefits:

  • improved travel reliability by increasing flood immunity
  • improved reliability and efficiency of freight movements, and
  • reduced whole-of-life asset management costs, and
  • maintaining access to essential services for local communities.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $1.2 million towards this $1.5 million project.

Timetable

Construction commenced in July 2020 and was completed at the end of August 2020.
