Project description

Bundeena Drive is showing signs of pavement deformation and failures and is an essential road asset to maintain as it is the only vehicle access route into the townships of Bundeena and Maianbar. Existing road pavement has deteriorated due to road surface and base course failure. Narrow travelling lanes, narrow shoulders, vegetation intrusion in to shoulders and no provision for cyclists

Full width road reconstruction (2km length x 10m wide) including: lane widening, shoulder reconstruction, vegetation trimming, provision for cyclists. Pavement works include foamed asphalt the upper 250mm of combined existing pavement and 100mm overlay with 1% Hydrated Lime and 3% C170 bitumen. Foamed Asphalt is to be undertaken in a single pass operation at full lane width of 5.0m each direction, including the 3.2m road lane and 1.8m bike lane.
