Project description

Large number of traffic accidents and traffic congestion within road network east of Kwinana Freeway causes urgent needs for the road network upgrade. Armadale Road Extension, Verde Drive Extension, Prinsep Road Extension and construction of North Lake Road Bridge are some of projects accepted by Main Road WA and the City of Cockburn.

Construction of 800m of new road from the cul-de-sac at SLK 1.25 (straight line kilometres) Prinsep Road to the intersection with new extended section of Verde Drive .

Total cost of proposed project is $2,200,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
