Project description

The project widened centrelines, added audio tactile line marking, widened road shoulders, removed roadside hazards, and added safety barriers along the Peak Downs Highway. 

Benefits

Improved overall safety for all road users, pavement protection and increased separation between heavy vehicles, caravans and light vehicles, improved freight efficiency, and reduced road maintenance costs.

Funding

The Australian Government committed up to $14.36 million towards the project

Construction commenced November 2020, and was completed December 2021
