Project description

This project will include the installation of road safety improvements along Thompson Road, including upgrades to the intersection of Darebin Road and Thompson Road, improvements to pedestrian facilities, formalisation of the corridor as a two-lane two-way road, and planning work to identify further road safety improvements.

Benefits

This project is expected to improve the safety of the entire corridor, providing significant amenity for all local road users, as well as reducing congestion.

Funding

The Australian Government is contributing $4.02 million and the Victorian Government is contributing $0.98 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in mid 2024, and is expected to be completed in late 2025.
