Project description

The project has upgraded safety barriers and undertake associated works on the Corio-Warun Ponds Road rail overpass at Separation Street in Geelong, Victoria.

Benefits

This project is expected to improve safety for all road users and increase network efficiency.

Funding

The Australian Government has contributed $3.4 million and the Victorian Government is contributing $0.8 million.

Timetable

Construction had commenced in mid 2023 and was completed in mid 2024.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
