Project description

This project upgraded the intersection of Tyers Road, Scubby Lane and Cross's Road in Traralgon West.

Benefits

The project has improved road safety for all road users, improved accessibility and connectivity of road networks.

Funding

The Australian Government contributed $800,000 and the Victorian Government contributed $200,000.

Timetable

This project commenced construction in April 2021 and was completed in August 2021.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
