Project description

Seal surface was installed with a substandard material. The surface is brittle and breaking down, beginning to reveal the below pavement. Kerbing is cracked as has been sealed to its maximum height, leaving no kerb face to seal against. This road / route is used by the South Bunbury Primary School Education Support Centre Regional School Bus Service as their pick up and drop off location.

Replace kerbing. Profile existing seal, and reseal with new asphalt.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
