The existing road has a seal that is narrow and requires vehicles travelling in opposite directions to use the unsealed shoulder to avoid each other, there is a low point near the middle of the seal that runs longitudinally along the road; there is significant rutting, edge breaks and potholes occur regularly.

remove a number of trees that are close to the road; replace pipes in four culverts that have been built with butt joint pipes and are failing. Rip the existing seal and import gravel to form an 8 metre wide pavement with a 6 metre seal. Place signs and guideposts as required.
