Project description

Moppa Springs Road is classifed as a category 2 within Council's road hierarchy and provides an unsealed link to residential and farming houses to the North of the town of Greenock. In recent times, the road condition has deteriated and is slippery when wet and dusty in the drier months. This causes motorists to continually change their driving patterns to adapt to the conditions.

Road will be re-sheeted and constructed using a suitable quarry material that will provide a more consistent road surface for the driver.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
