Project description

The existing asphalt in this court is aged and deteriorated. There are multiple patches (some of which are failing again) along with some moderate deformation in areas. Moderate cracking is also evident throughout. The existing kerbs show cracking and rotation in areas.

Remove all existing kerbs and road pavements (full width), treat subgrade with lime stabilization (if required). Full road reconstruction including all kerb and channel. There will be some tree trimming required to allow for work operations in this street.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
