Project description

The issues to be corrected on Roberts Street are, drainage failures and ponding, improve pedestrian access and movements throughout the street, correct access issues through Roberts Street for long vehicles to access the caravan park, reconstruct pavement to correct poor geometry, resurface damaged asphalt and correct line marking for disabled parking and general parking bays.

Reconstruct Roberts Street with new finished levels to correct drainage, import new pavement material, apply new asphalt and kerbing, install new footpaths, include appropriate parking and improve swept paths for long vehicles accessing the caravan park.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
