Project description

The project will undertake road safety treatments works across the road network in Western Australia. The works vary across the state but include a mix of:

  • sealing of shoulders
  • widening the road formation
  • installation of audible edge lines
  • installation of audible centre lines

Benefits

Rural and regional roads projects will target road network safety gaps and raise the standards, to a minimum of ‘three star’ on high-risk highways and arterial roads.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $284 million towards the project.

Timetable

Construction is expected to commence late 2020 and be completed by mid-2022.
