Project description

The Boundary Road North south bound traffic and the Charles Street north bound traffic lanes need to have the pavement strengthened to enable increasing heavy vehicle usage whilst preventing continuing damage.

The Boundary Road North west and east approach to Charles Street as well as Charles Street will be rehabilitated then have an overlay of asphalt applied to the existing intersection as per Councils maintenance protocols.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
