Project description

Failures present on this road include longitudinal cracking, crocodile cracking, rutting and some heaving of the pavement. Pavement rehabilitation is required in order to provide an expected level of service and minimize reactive maintenance.

Pre construction works include service; service locating and geotechnical testing (borelogs, particle distribution, CBR and UCS). Construction works include; removal of existing asphalt wearing course and top 300mm of existing pavement material, lime stabilisation of the next 300mm of subgrade material with 3% lime to achieve a CBR of 7%, 3.5% 60/40 slag/cement stabilisation of the top 300mm existing pavement material to achieve a design modulus of 5000MPa, and 50mm AC10 wearing course.
