Project description

Duringan Street fronts Wallace Nicoll Park. This is one of Gold Coast's most popular family swimming and recreation areas. The is a number of public safety issues in relation to the active transport network. There are also traffic congestion issues that need improving.

To improve road congestion, the project aims constructs a right turn lane into the carpark and beach area to the north, installs new pedestrian crossings for safer access to the beach to the north and park and facilities to the south and east west active transport users, provides for an on-road bike lane on both sides of the road, the provision of an improved shared pathway and re line-marking of the existing parking facility.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,826,300
