Project description

Road Safety and Asset Maintenance are the Two major Issues with this road. The existing pavement is narrow with edge breaks and generally the Pavement is in poor condition. This segment of road leads up to a major Murrumbidgee Irrigation canal crossing and is a link to Wattle Hill area of Leeton. This canal crossing suffers from reduced sight distance, with pavement elevation this sight distance would be significantly increased.

Works will include full pavement rehabilitation with shoulder widening works and elevation of road surface either side of the canal crossing to increase sight distance in this area. The road will be completed with a 2 coat bitumen seal to a minimum width of 7m with appropriate line-marking installed. This works will include localised heavy patching of the sub-base.
