Project description

The project will provide safety improvements and an intersection upgrade along Marine Parade in Lakes Entrance, Victoria.

Benefits

This project is expected to improve safety for all road users and improve traffic flow through Lakes Entrance.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $1,781,000 towards the project, and the East Gippsland Shire Council is committing $359,000.

Timetable

Construction commenced in June 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by late 2026.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
