Project description

This busy intersection is causing traffic issues in periods of heavy rainfall resulting in water inundation on and surrounding the road. This is due to the existing infrastructure consisting of no formal kerb and channel, and informal gravel swale drains. The existing gravel car park is not line marked confusing users of their parking requirements and creating traffic hazards at an already busy intersection. The works will assist to improve traffic conditions through road widening, create formalised car parking, improve drainage and protect the existing pavement. Overall providing a safe and functioning intersection.

Installation of kerb and channel along both sides of the road. Improved drainage to relocate water inundation away from the road pavement, to protect it's longevity and reduce traffic safety. Installation of formal car parking, including asphalting and line marking.
